Royal Commission of Inquiry

The Baptist Churches of New Zealand have entered into a process of information gathering for the purpose of the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) into Historical Abuse in State Care and in the Care of Faith-based Institutions.

As a movement we are in full cooperation of our legal obligation to comply with a Notice to Produce for the sake of past victims of abuse, and to ensure protection of children, young persons and vulnerable adults into the future.

If you believe you may have experienced past abuse while under the care of the Baptist Churches of New Zealand or their affiliated entities we welcome your inquiry through one of our claims administrators (see below).

Should you wish to contact us for further information or support please email us.

We have worked closely with our lawyer to put in place a Historic Abuse Claims Policy to provide guidance if a claim of historical abuse arises from the Inquiry. This has been adopted by the Assembly Council and is available for you here
