As New Zealand’s ethnic make-up changes, Baptist Multicultural Inclusion Ministries is committed to supporting pastors and churches who are seeking to reflect this multicultural mix. Many Baptist churches are multicultural in their makeup. Worshipping predominantly in English, they offer migrant-friendly activities such as English conversation classes, international events, and simple English Bible studies. There are also around 40 New Zealand Baptist churches and congregations made up of migrants worshipping in their own language and in a style that reflects their cultural background. These include Samoan, Chinese, Korean, Indian, Russian and Cambodian fellowships.
The Baptist Multicultural Inclusion Ministries team is made up of many widely recognised and experienced pastors and leaders. They encourage the pastors of ethnic churches and the congregations they lead by providing mentoring, cluster group leadership, preaching, administrational help, and pastoral support.
