How can the NZ Baptists help the Philippines?

Baptist Churches of NZ are working closely with the Asia Pacific Baptist Federation with updates and prayers for the disaster in the Philippines brought about by typhoon Haiyan. If you would like to give a financial donation please direct it to:

Please consider prayerfully and sacrificially the situation in the Philippines.

In upland area of 11 local churches/villages, 95% of houses are totally and heavily damaged. Their immediate need is food, water and roofing to shelter them from heat and further rain. Many towns could not be reached yet because areas are flooding. There are 34 Baptist churches in Roxas City and coastal villages in 4 municipalities. They need food items, drinking water, blankets and roofing for immediate shelter. The same needs are for another 22 churches in 4 municipallities in the circuit C of Capiz, North Iloilo and North Negros. There are church members that are reported dead because of drowning and some hit by fallen trees. More than 150 deaths are reported in Capiz and Iloilo.

Initial relief efforts have been facilitated by APBAid (Asia Pacific Baptist Aid)
