Which regulations are you following?!!

Ok, so it is all a bit confusing!

My centre is running with the 1998 Regs but we are slowly changing any policies that we review to include reference and links to the 2008 regulations.

I haven’t heard of any Centres that have been reviewed and relicensed under the new regs yet. Have you been?? How did it go?? I’m certainly not putting my hand up to offer for relicensing but I can’t see any big issues for us. Are you having any issues?

I have heard of NEW centres being licensed under the new regs and it appears to have gone well.

I am looking forward to hearing what the National Government do with the regs before getting too carried away with making lots of changes. I can’t see too many alterations being made to the regs but maybe to the criteria instead.

So we wait… but do make sure you have read the new regs and the criteria as the Ministry of Education can phone you up to be relicensed at anytime. You also need to know what is going on! If you can’t find them on your desk then look them up on the Ministry website www.minedu.govt.nz and click on ‘Early Childhood’ and then ‘New Regulatory System’.

Even Trustees should have a look!!
