The media seemed to be hitting ECE centres quite hard last month with an article “Naught to Five - The Daycare Experiment” in the North and South Magazine and then on the News! What I found most interesting was that there is very little research done on the effects of Children who are Under Two and in ECE. They raised the argument that their brains are designed to be developing areas relating to love, security and cuddles, not education. What is your Under Two Philosophy? Can you back it up with research?
I have recently started sending my staff on the Babyspace conferences run by Pennie Brownie, many of her theories come from the work carried out in Budapest
It really is worth stopping and thinking about. I can highly recommend her book ‘Dance with Me in the Heart’.
