
Praise abounds for Upturn ‘09, the Baptist Community Ministries’ first national get-together since 2006.
A survey of delegates drew positive comments about the plenary speakers, workshops and the overall conference, such as:

Upturn ‘09’ brought together approximately 100 employed and volunteer staff from more than 40 Baptist community ministries or social service providers, from Northland to Southland.
The plenary speakers were Dr Chris Marshall and Lyn Campbell. Dr Marshall is the Associate Professor of Christian Studies at the University of Victoria , Wellington .
Lyn Campbell is a member of the Baptist Assembly Council, and is a former Families Commissioner. She volunteers as an advisor to Te Ora Hou and as a supervisor to Fresh Perspectives, a family mentoring initiative.
