Opawa - Canterbury/Otago

Rev Paul McMahon, Rev Ken McCormack

December 27th we had a busy programme for Senior Pastor Steve Taylor’s last service with us. Two people were baptised, three came into membership, and Judy Moore was re-commissioned as she returns to teach at the school for the deaf in Puerto Rico. Steve preached on questions based on Luke 10: 1-12, “Who is God? Where is God? What is God up to?” His replies: He is a sending God. He is active inside the church and in the community, as we look for persons of peace. God is in relationships, in the speaking of peace, and in changed lives.” There was evidence of these things in the baptisms, receiving into membership and the commissioning. We farewell the Taylor family on Jan 16th, before they leave to take up an assignment in Adelaide. God bless Steve, Lynne, Shannon and Kayli Ann! Their ministry has been used of God to reach many people. A search committee is at work and prayer as we seek a new Senior Pastor.
