Pastor: Murray Gordon

A “Weekend on Worship” with Brent Chambers provided the church and music team with inspiration and practical ideas. Jim Hurn gave an enlightening message on Back to Church Sunday after taking part in the Upper Hutt Promise Keepers event, which was enjoyed by a number of our men. Our youth band, Two Shots Fired, have been busy playing at many church events, a local college and the Upper Hutt “Fireworks Fantastic.” It was great being able to organise a visit to Upper Hutt of the Watoto choir, with good attendance by people outside of our church and a substantial amount was raised to continue the work with orphaned children in Uganda. The board enjoyed a retreat with Lindsay Jones looking at values. Our Youth leaders completed a course on Galatians, culminating in each of them preaching Sunday morning to pass on what they had learned to the church family. Pot-Luck lunches, a “Guess who’s coming to lunch” event as well as regular Ladies and Men’s breakfasts have provided many opportunities for informal fellowship. Pastor Murray has been doing a series on Acts which has proved very thought provoking.  We celebrated with James Haeata as he was baptised in the river. Joshua Wood (14) continues to make good progress with his leukaemia treatment though he still has another year of medical procedures before him. Please continue to join us in praying for this courageous young man.
