Howick - Northland/Auckland

Pastors- Peter Somervell, Calvyn Jonker, Tony Nunez

Family Camp at Totara Springs Matamata was a time of enrichment in the lives of those who attended. We welcomed Kevin and Lois Gore to our Church Service when Kevin brought the challenge of God’s Word to those not at the Camp. It has been a joy for many to share in the evangelistic project to get a copy of Pilgrim’s Progress to every prisoner in NZ.  The Girl’s Brigade have been busy with an ice skating night and a Fashion Parade evening.  Mum’s Tots- a new Bible Study Group for Mums with toddlers has commenced. The Church lounge was open to the members of the Howick Community for the Howick Midnight Madness night and also for the Howick Santa Parade as a means of getting the Christmas message to the people. HBC also took part in the Parade. Welcome home to Colin and Christine Thompson and family from the Sudan. Highlight of the year was the combined HBC/ EFC (Evangelical Formosan Church) morning worship on 20th December. The whole Service was in English and Mandarin with great translation, wonderful singing by the Formosan Choir and the Congregation. A shared lunch followed. Much appreciated were the evening Carols brought to the homes of our elderly folk by a group from HBC. We welcome into membership – James and Celeste van Heerden, Katherine Ning, Esma Denison, Luke and Jasmine McMahon.
