Pastor Jonathan Ruthven
Our church property has been a hive of industry as part one of our building project rapidly takes shape. We now have an Office/Administration block in what used to be our old Sunday School hall. Sunday School now uses our bigger hall. The manse has been renovated, fenced off and the Ruthven’s are now in residence.
The remake of the main auditorium, turning it 90 degrees has begun. The Ladies marked the Queen’s Jubilee with a High Tea complete with an interesting talk from our own royal family genealogist. The event was enjoyed by many including a good number of ladies from outside the fellowship. We have commenced a thought provoking series on Genesis 1 – 11.
Morrinsville
On the April 25, the church moved to Morrinsville College for morning worship services and children’s ministry. We need to rebuild the church auditorium, hopefully in the not-too-distant future. Growing attendance has reached the point where a bigger venue is needed. Morrinsville College is a logical place as the large youth group is mainly drawn from there. A joint agreement will see a 24/7 youth worker positioned there. This will provide other opportunities to reach the town, and become more of a missional church. Dedicated teams set up the hall and the three rooms for Spotlight. A separate team installs the sound system and all returns to normal afterwards. These are exciting times, watch this space!
