NewWorldSon – Rebel Transmission

cdrebeltransmissionTo try and force NewWorldSon into one nice neat genre is next to impossible, and that is especially true with their latest album. Rebel Transmission features elements of funk, rock, soul, pop, reggae and gospel – the list could go on – while still retaining a high “Jesus per minute” rating in the lyric department.

It is no wonder that iTunes puts this album under the “religious” umbrella. But such a label doesn’t do this album justice. In fact, I would propose a new music genre be created. Perhaps “smooth” is a better way to describe these tunes.

It would be extremely difficult to have a bad day while listening to this album. To feel angry, upset or tired is simply not possible while blasting these tunes. If you are capable of of feeling negative after listening to Rebel Transmission then there is clearly something wrong with you.

This is a stunning album, to which these simple words could never do justice. So go out now, right now, and get yourself a copy.

Five out of five stars
