Preachers, when was the last time you gave a challenge for a response at your church?

Since retiring and being part of several churches, my husband and I can only remember once a challenge being made, and yes, a lady responded – until we moved north of  Auckland. The church we now attend has a mission statement that says it all: “To reach the lost, raise up and nurture a people who are committed followers of Jesus Christ.” 

Frequntly a challenge is given, when people are asked while heads are bowed  to raise their hand if they want to be prayed for. Already this year there have been three baptisms of different nationalities. The catalyst? There were ten days of prayer and fasting in February with two sessions each day of specific prayer for different aspects of the work. Since then there is a monthly day for prayer and fasting. God is growing this church.
