Jetstar Flying Start grant
Applications for the next Jetstar Flying Start grant close at 5.00pm on 31 May 2012. Any New Zealand based not-for-profit community group or organisation is encouraged to apply. Up for grabs is a ‘prize package’ of $30,000, split 50/50 between cash and flights. Full application details and conditions can be found at www.jetstar.com . 

Characters
Characters is online magazine created to showcase the artistic side of the NFP sector, through short fiction, personal essays, and photography. The first submission deadline is 30 June 2012 and the theme is ‘Hope and Fear’. For submission guidelines check out their website. Although a US-based site, they will accept submissions from any country.

Loan resources
The Baptist National Resource has a number of free resources available for loan to Baptist churches/trusts. Services for Seniors
The Ministry of Social Development has developed a guide for people aged 65+years. It includes information about Superannuation (NZ Super) and Veteran’s Pension, and other help they may be able to get from MSD. The guide includes contact details for other organisations that offer services for seniors.
