Howick Midnight Madness was held in November when the church was open for refreshments and to hand out Gospel tracts. The church also entered a nativity float in the annual Santa Parade. In December five young adults went on missions trips ranging from three weeks to two months. Countries included Myanmar, India and Thailand.

It was an honour to host one of the 300-plus World Day of Prayer services conducted nationwide on March 2. Each year more than 180 countries follow the same Christian worship service; this year prayer focused on justice in Malaysia. On the home front, we were delighted to welcome our new student pastor Sam Schuurman and his wife, Rachel. Carole McMinn and her team cooked another huge batch of meals for Plunket mums. And youth teas are up and running again.
