Opawa
Senior Pastor Rob Petrini
Labour Weekend we celebrated our Centennial, giving thanks to God for all that he has done in Opawa over 100 years. We held a dinner in the old church with 200 people from all over NZ and from Australia. Members produced “Our Centenary,” a full-colour booklet available from the church office. Sunday morning speakers were Ken McCormack, Steve Taylor, Gordon Rosewall and Gordon Coombs. Present pastor Rob Petrini concluded with where we are and what we hope to do as God leads. The second Sunday in February, a Commitment Sunday, saw our ministries looking for assistance and people signing up for 2012. This year’s emphasis is to be on making disciples.
