The bubble tool
NFP organisations often ask their board members to suggest friends or contacts who could be potential supporters. Board members may be coy about approaching the same people repeatedly, and may scratch their heads over who else they can recommend. Janet Boguch of Non-Profit Works designed this tool to help NFP board members - and staff and volunteers for that matter - to brainstorm contacts. (PDF 389KB, 2pgs)
The key to using this tool, Janet says, is to ask: “Who do you think should know about our organisation?” and not “Who do you think we can get to financially support this organisation?”
