In his letter (NZ Baptist, February) showing quite rightly that Israel is Israel, and the Church is the Church, Brian Hooper finishes by asking this: “The question remains: Does God have a plan for Israel?”

I believe he does and that it is found in the Scriptures, as it should be, and that it is the same as it has always been. Joel 2:32, NIV: “And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” repeated in the New Testament at Acts 2:21: “And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” God’s plan for his people, the Jews, today, therefore is that they will call on him through the Saviour of the world, who died for us and rose again, his son the Lord Jesus Christ, their Messiah and Immanuel, for salvation.
