
You want prospective donors and volunteers and other key audiences to trust your ministry, right? But relationships are built with people, not organisations, so make sure the staff bios you use in your publications and website are engaging readers at a personal, emotional level.
Nancy Schwartz in her article ‘How to Transform Staff Bios from Mundane to Magic in 6 Easy Steps’ gives some basics you should consider when creating or revamping your bios.
To this excellent list we would add to make sure you avoid saying things like "He has been with our organisation for four years". Use actual dates/years, so you do not have to make unnecessary annual adjustments e.g. "He came onto our Board in June 2005".
