Our senior Sunday school presented a Christmas play at a morning service in December. We combined with the local churches for a carol service in the park and our part in the evening was the Sheep’s Party (mainly music song). Sunday Gordon Homer conducted a communion service on the day he celebrated his 90th birthday. Evening cafe services have recommenced.

Church camp was held at the picturesque Kelvin Heights Lakeland site with a record number of attendees. Guest speaker Julian Highsted, who came with his wife and children, encouraged us with our concepts of community. More than 70 people were ministered to at our six-weekly Nail Care Clinic. ICONZ boys went on camp, working towards their Campiz II badge. Prizegiving for ICONZ happened on December 9 with some very proud boys and their parents attending. Our Seniors group had a Christmas-themed morning tea, and a new website has been created for this ministry. Hoopah started again this term, ministering to Mataura school children and their families. Kids church completed its year with a drama based on Jesus’ birth from different perspectives – cows, pigs, shepherds, and wise men. We held our annual Vision Sunday where all the ministry leaders express what their vision is.

All groups are in recess after enjoyable end-of-year functions. A Rainbow Daycare church service was followed by a luncheon. Kids’ church presented the nativity. Children’s prizegiving and tokens of appreciation were presented to the dedicated staff. CFFD held a picnic. Rainbow Daycare entered nine floats in the Christmas Santa Parade. Carols were sung at St Andrews Rest Home and at the public hospital. Visiting speakers Paul Bernard and Cathy Andersen presented an inspiring message on the Ten Commandments. A pantry evening was held for Jayde Regassa, who is now reunited with her husband of one year, Zooke, from Ethiopia. Looking ahead to a year of outreach and growth.
