During recent decades the number of elderly people in Europe has increased dramatically.  This development forms a challenge to politics and churches.  Christa Gabler gives an answer from a pastoral point of view.  She herself has worked as a minister and authored two books on spiritual care of the elderly.  At present she is involved in a research project on religion and ageing.
