The Networking Survival Guide (2nd edition)
Effective networking is more than passing out business cards and asking for stuff. This book – its full title is below – is a strategic look at networking the old-fashioned way (face-to-face) and through social media. You might find its premeditated and highly detailed approach to networking a bit OTT, but you can pick and choose from the suggestions.
So why would busy community ministries folk want to, or need to, network? Well, in the words of Nicholas Boothman, a business communication specialist, “Any way you look at it, other people are your greatest resource.” Or as we might say it in NZ: “He aha te mea nui o te ao? He tangata! He tangata! He tangata!”
This book leans more to the ‘for-profit’ world than the NFP one, but the principles are much the same for both, even if your motivations are different.
