In November 2011 the five-yearly survey of New Zealand churches will take place. We encourage you to take part. The survey creates a snapshot of the NZ church, across the various denominational streams. It provides details about demographics, attendees’’ growth in faith, commitment to the local church vision, and the relationship of the church to its local community. It asks questions about reaching out to others, care for young people, and attitudes to leadership.

 The Baptist Union has registered as a denomination. This will enable you to do the survey for $20 per church (or per congregation if more than one). You will be invoiced by the Baptist Union after you register.
To participate go to www.clsnz.com and register your church (or congregation). You will need a regional Church Group Code (see list at the end of this article). When you register, your church or congregation will be given a unique code to ensure security of information.
Blank survey questionnaire forms will be available from late October. You will be able to download these from the CLSNZ website, or alternatively CLSNZ is willing to print and post questionnaires with a charge to cover printing/postage costs.

You can either load the data from the questionnaires yourself, or you can opt to send in the questionnaires to CLSNZ and they will enter it for you for a small charge (60 cents per questionnaire).

In addition to your main church report, six other reports will be available for download.  The six report titles are:

• Demographics.
• Church attendance/Approaches to Bible and Faith.
• Perceptions of Church and Leadership
• Belonging and Involvement
• Personal spirituality.
• Catering for younger people

 Churches are requested to undertake the survey during the month of November 2011. Instructions will be sent out prior to that month.
