Grant Harris of Windsor Park Baptist Church, in his article “Ponder election issues” in the November issue of NZ Baptist, writes: “It is dangerous to isolate one issue, whether it be marriage, homosexuality or the environment, and to vote on that basis alone.” He doesn’t include abortion in his list but I am presuming that he might have done. As a pro-lifer, I choose a candidate who will represent my views on abortion if the conscience vote rises in Parliament. I don’t consider myself to be in any danger at all, but I know that there are those in our society who haven’t been born yet but who have heartbeats, who are daily in terrible danger.
