Many of you will be called upon to help church members or community people who are grieving the loss of a loved one and who want guidance with funeral planning. Garth Wright is an Auckland funeral director who has written a book called ‘When It’s Time to Call the Funeral Director’. He says he has written this from a “funeral-home neutral and person-centred perspective”. The book covers:
- Choosing a funeral home.
- Various scenarios based on whether a person dies at home, in a hospital, unexpectedly etc.
- What occurs biologically to a body when it dies
- Embalming
- Funeral home processes
- Funeral planning
- Funeral processes for a baby
The book is available through Amazon.com and Amazon Kindle.
