Our pastor is currently preaching on the book of Revelation. We had our Self Denial emphasis during May and the appeal will be finalised with an auction of items donated by church members. Anson Sia, who was recently welcomed as the leader of our Chinese congregation, is currently visiting the Phillipines. We give thanks for improvement in health for several of our church members.

During May, Mick took a break from the Joshua series, and focused on the theme of “Family Matters,” including five dedications (all boys!) One hundred people attended a thank you brunch for all who volunteer in different MBC ministries. The auditorium was full when we hosted Tony Campolo, and there was a great response to TearFUND sponsorship. Men’s Ministry took 17 of our high schoolers to the Blues vs Stormers game at Eden Park. Mick and Ruby host “CHEW on Tuesday,” an opportunity for people to drop in with questions/comments relating to Sunday messages or request prayer. There was a great turnout to a working bee to spruce up the property. Generous sponsorship from the church family enabled a number of community kids to attend Easter/E Camps. Planning is underway for family camp at Totara Springs Christian Camp, September 9-11. The theme is “The Puzzle.”
