The author of The Prayer of Jabez subtitles this book, “7 Keys to a Life of Predictable Miracles.” He asserts that Christians were born for a life of experiencing “Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us” (Ephesians 3:20). You were born to do God’s work by God’s power.

We can experience predictable miracles in our lives as we make ourselves open to do God’s work by God’s power. Wilkinson outlines Four Miracle Life Keys that describe internal actions that prepare you for a life of miracles. These are: The master key – an urgent prayer to be sent by God on a miracle mission; The people key – a decision to make God’s heart for people your own; the Spirit key – aligning yourself with the supernatural power that’s always required to accomplish a miracle; the risk key – living in such a way that you take risks of faith. He then outlines three keys to special delivery miracles: the money key, the dream key and the forgiveness key.

The book is replete with examples of how the author and members of his congregation have seen God work miracles in other people’s lives when they have been prepared to be available to allow God to work through them.
