The Fijians are coming!

baptistwomenBula Vinaka! Fiji Baptist Women are keen members of the Baptist Women’s Union of the South West Pacific, and in recent years they’ve sent large contingents to various international conferences in the area.

Indeed, in 2004 they hosted a BWUSWP conference themselves, which a number of Kiwi women attended. As a result we’ve established warm friendships with our Fijian sisters and have looked for ways to get to know them better. So our board was delighted when Amelia Gavidi, current president of Fiji Baptist women, accepted our invitation to bring a group of their women to take part in Baptist women’s events in New Zealand in late May.

Auckland Baptist Women’s Ministries will hold its annual inspirational programme at Northcote Baptist Church on Saturday May 28, from 3 to 9pm. (As always, dinner will be included.) And as part of this event Amelia and her team from Fiji will perform dances, songs and a drama. What a wonderful opportunity this will be to introduce some of these beautiful sisters from another part of the South West Pacific.

But wait, there’s more! If you live outside of Auckland you can still be in on this. The women from Fiji will be taking part in a similar event in Tauranga and in Rotorua the week before.

More details will follow (all Baptist churches will receive information in the next month) but we hope you’ll keep these dates free and enjoy the celebrations with us.

Women, it’s all about networking!
