Epsom
Helen Evans has retired after 13 years as church secretary. Thank you, Helen. Approximately 100 infant vests were presented to Julie Belding to take to Papua New Guinea. David Hayward is leading the home group on a series on the Psalms. At a congregational meeting in August we had a good discussion with Saturday Evening Chinese Congregation Leaders. The Ephesian Seminar was great with lively discussion on the text.

 

Otahuhu
Our new computer and data projection system is going well. We are still working out a few technical bugs but overall a great investment. We had our annual mid-winter Christmas dinner. Our congregation is celebrating the news of the engagement of our pastor Anthony Glading to Miriana Horecek. We recently farewelled one of our young people, Honour Stewart, who is off to China to complete her university degree. Once finished she hopes to stay on teaching English.

A creative August missions month featured sermons, studies, displays, activities, meals and missions team members on home assignment. Plans being finalised for the refurbishment of the upstairs hall to enhance ministry and usefulness of that area. The search for a new senior pastor is in full swing, with much prayer and diligent investigation under way. Some serious work has been done on refreshing our governance structures to further enhance our church’s outreach and fruitfulness in the future. A small team is becoming involved in prison ministry.
