Hokowhitu
Pastor Rodger Scoones
Summer’s Fun in the Park, and winter’s Fun in the Hall, proved active outreach to the children in the Hokowhitu suburb of Palmerston North. Our energetic youth pastor, Carl Hooker, who is also the school’s chaplain, has established ICONZ at Hokowhitu School. This program geared towards the needs of the boys is very popular. Our new initiative, Live @ 5, is taking shape.

With the aim of reaching our community in general, we now run a contemporary service once a fortnight with a free dinner, lively discussion and fantastic music. The links with our sister church, Ormoc City Church in the Philippines, continue to grow. It is a privilege to share our journeys. Our much anticipated annual ski camp is about to happen.

Palmerston North Central
Our Planet Shakers children raised more than $3000 in a garage sale for Missions for Water Buffalo. Pastors Digby and Jane recently travelled to various parts of the world to visit church members who are missionaries. They both gave and received much encouragement. We recently farewelled our Youth Pastor Mels Roberts and thank her for her wonderful ministry. We wish her well in her new ventures. We had a great response to the Self Denial Appeal.
