I wonder if the scientists who put their name to “Scientists speak up” (May NZ Baptist) could qualify their statement, “We … affirm that historic Christian faith is compatible with an evolutionary unfolding of life.”

I would like them to qualify whether they use the word “evolution” in the context of the General Theory of Evolution (GTE) or in the context of change through natural selection?

Dr Jeff Tallon, one of the scientists, replies: I think the answer may be that some (perhaps the majority) might answer GTE while some might opt for change through natural selection. My answer would be a little different again!
