An informative, interactive and entertaining series of workshops, based on Whangaparaoa member Rodney Cowell’s book God’s Secret Plan, was recently held with positive feedback received from all who attended.

Said pastor and team leader Trevor Donnell, “Rodney’s workshop series sensitively raised many of the issues surrounding multicultural church. His experience leading such a church provided valuable insights. It was a very thought provoking series.”

The series began by reviewing the biblical foundations for multicultural mission and then worked through many of the issues church leaders and Christians face when intentionally taking the Gospel message beyond their own culture.

Other issues addressed were learning to communicate, building relationships and setting action plans.

Whangaparaoa Baptist Church has decided to begin a ministry to reach out into those cultures within its community that are presently not well represented in the church family.
