Chris Finlay & Paul Thompson
After all the end of year breakups and then Christmas celebrations, most of our organisations have commenced their activities for this year – Bubbles, Oasis, Playgroup, Revive, Soapy, Girls’ Brigade, The Watering Hole and BMF. Parachute 2010 has come and gone with 50 or more of our young and not-so-young folk attending. Since early December our fellowship has suffered the loss of three of our members: David Carr ex SSEM missionary; Jerry Velek, one of our senior citizens; and Joyce O’Malley, who had been part of our fellowship for many years and a leader in our Girls’ Brigade. We have the assurance they are in the presence of our Lord. Our church has purchased chairs to replace the pews. In early February we had a visit from Stu Corlett, who brought us up-to-date on the situation with Partners R&D in Thailand, assisting Burmese refugees in camps along the border.
