How it Works

Choose your gift
From $5 to $100 there’s something to suit every friend, colleague or family member. Select the gift you would like to give from the catalogue and order online or if you would prefer you can download an order form here.

Send a card
We’ll send you a card to send to the person you are giving the gift to. The card will tell them about the very worthwhile gift you have chosen for them. They’ll feel wonderful and so will you.

Make a difference
The cost of your gift is allocated to the relevant ministry or mission area.  Should we receive contributions in excess of the needs in a particular area, we will use the excess in other areas represented by gift items in this catalogue.

Who Benefits

The Gifts for Local Mission programme has been developed to support the local mission and ministry work of the Baptist community throughout New Zealand.  Gifts have been identified in order to support areas of greatest need.

Over time these gifts may change to ensure that they respond to the needs of our community and those of the people within New Zealand.

1. What is the Gifts for Local Mission?
Gifts for Local Mission is a new way to support the work of the Baptist Churches of New Zealand. It provides a way of contributing to the local mission and Baptist ministry work through buying a gift for a friend or family member. The price of the gift is then allocated to the relevant mission or ministry area and the gift recipient receives a card describing the gift and the difference it will make. 

2. How have the gifts been selected?
The gifts in the catalogue have been chosen as they represent the areas of greatest need within New Zealand communities and in relation to local mission and the work of Baptist ministries. From time to time the gifts may change to stay relevant with current needs.

3. How is the gift delivered?
The gift giver sends a card to the gift recipient that describes the gift and the difference it will make. The price of the gift is then allocated to the relevant ministry or mission area. Should contributions be received in excess of the needs in a particular area, the excess will be allocated to other areas represented by gifts in the catalogue.

4. How and when will I receive the card?
The gift giver will receive a card within a week of making the purchase. The card and envelope can then be personalised to the gift recipient and sent to them in time for their special occasion. 

5. How can I order and pay for a gift?
There are 2 simple options for purchasing a gift. You can order and pay for the gift online or you can download an order form here, fill in your credit card details or attach a cheque payable to Baptist Churches of New Zealand and post to: Gifts for Local Mission, P.O. Box 12 149, Penrose, Auckland 1642.

6.  If I purchase on online, is my payment secure?
Baptist Churches of New Zealand will ensure your privacy and credit card details are protected. The dps (Direct Payment System Ltd) is used for online processing of credit card payments. If you would prefer to pay another way please download the form here, or call Jill Hitchcock 09 526 0338.

7. Are Gifts for Local Mission tax deductible?
Yes they are. You will be sent a tax certificate by Baptist Churches of New Zealand and can complete the IR526 form at the end of the tax year (March 31st) to claim your rebate. 

8. Can Gifts for Local Mission send the printed card directly to my friend or family member?
No. The card needs to be sent to the gift giver so they are able to personalise the card with their own message before sending.
