Part-time Accountant or Finance Technician - TSCF

Do you want to help facilitate the Gospel being spread on university campuses across New Zealand? Tertiary Students Christian Fellowship needs a part-time accountant or finance technician to work at our national office in Wellington. 

We are seeking someone with a good working knowledge of accounting practice who is hard working, shows initiative, has a good sense of humour and is able to subscribe to TSCF’s values. Working as part of the office team, the successful applicant will be responsible for the day-to-day running of TSCF’s accounts including accounts receivable, accounts payable, preparation of financial accounts, budgeting and reconciliations, payroll, PAYE and GST.   

This position is initially to cover maternity leave but there is a possibility of it becoming full time or permanent.

Ecumenical Hospital Chaplain - PALMERSTON NORTH HOSPITAL

Applications are sought from experienced chaplains and other suitably qualified  ordained clergy for this Full - time Co-ordinating Chaplain position at the Palmerston North Hospital in the MidCentral DHB. The position is being offered for a term of 3 years initially.

The successful applicant will become the full-time member of a very busy chaplaincy team with two part-time chaplains, and a team of voluntary part-time chaplaincy assistants, providing Christian ministry, spiritual, emotional and pastoral care to patients, their families and staff in the 330 bed Palmerston North Hospital. .

Applicants should have completed a degree or equivalent qualification in theology or ministry and should ideally have completed a minimum of one Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) course and must have at least 3 years experience in hospital chaplaincy, parish or other relevant ministry positions. The ability to provide Christian ministry and spiritual health care to people with a range of health needs and from a variety of cultural and religious backgrounds, and to participate in a multi-disciplinary health care team, operating in ways consistent with the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi, is required. A good communicator and team player is essential.

An appointee who is not already an accredited NZ Healthcare Chaplain will be required to work towards obtaining accreditation. Chaplains are required to become accredited within 5 years of appointment. 

No assistance with relocation expenses is available.

Ecumenical Hospital Chaplain - MIDDLEMORE HOSPITAL

Applications are sought from suitably qualified Ministers for this full-time position in the Ecumenical Hospital Chaplaincy team based at the Middlemore Hospital.

Given the diverse cultural and ethnic make up of South Auckland the membership of the chaplaincy team at Middlemore Hospital reflects the ethnicity of the main patient groups. The main focus of this position will be serving Pakeha and those patients not covered by the Chaplains to Maori, Pacific Island and Asian people. But not exclusively, as all chaplains are required to assist anyone who requests their assistance.

The position is being offered on the basis of an initial term for 3 years.

Applicants must be Ministers of Religion in "Good Standing" and appropriately licensed to offer Christian ministry. They must have a degree in theology or ministry and experience in parish, hospital chaplaincy or other relevant ministry positions. Preference will be given to those who have already completed one or more Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) courses.

The successful applicant will be required to participate as a full member of a busy team of full and part-time chaplains and chaplaincy assistants, from a range of ethnic backgrounds and denominations providing Christian ministry, emotional support and pastoral care to patients, families and staff in the large (863 bed) Middlemore Hospital and in other health units in the DHB.

The Chaplain will be required to share in training, supervising and leading a team of part-time voluntary Chaplaincy Assistants. They will also be required to take their turn on the on-call emergency, and Sunday service rosters. They will also need to take other services at the request of hospital staff. A good communicator and team player is essential.
