We farewelled our associate pastor Calvyn Jonker and his wife, Alice, and daughters Jenny and Claire as Calvyn accepted a call to be Senior Pastor at Wanganui East Baptist. They spent two years at Howick where we have appreciated their hospitality, Calvyn’s music and leadership, and Alice’s Sunday school leadership. The elders continue to seek an associate pastor. We welcome home Colin and Christine Thompson and family from missionary service in the Sudan. Our pastors, some elders and Simon Newbold attended the Shepherds Conference in Los Angeles in March. A Camp & Fish weekend was held in March at Kaipara Harbour. Congratulations to graduates from Carey Baptist College – Jonathan Macfarlane, BAppTheol, and Jarred Ambrose, DipAppTheol.
