God illuminates lives at Easter Camp Every year I wonder how it’s all going to come together. At best we go into this camp with some ideas of what God has been saying, some ideas about what the kids might like, some ideas of how we could serve the youth groups. They are just ideas. It’s really up to God to pull it all together, and pull it together He did. Northern Easter Camp 2010 at Mystery Creek, Hamilton, was a blast; so much fun stuff going on for a teenager to hook into. Massive blow-up Mission Impossibles, mud bowls, water slides, big air motorcycle displays, hoe down, concerts, paintball and sports were among the activities – such a safe and fun environment to be involved in. The theme this year was “illuminate.”
Multiplying the talents (a true story) John and Joanne have faithfully given their tithes to their local Baptist church each year since they were married nearly 25 years ago. They have also regularly given to global mission and special projects as they were able. When they first got married they had very little but were determined to give God what was due Him first and everything else came second. Over the years God blessed the couple and they were able to increase their giving and contribution to the work of the kingdom in a steady but faithful way. From time to time they were able to contribute to their church building fund and support mission endeavours overseas. For many years they have sponsored a World Vision child and a young boy through the tranzsend Student Sponsorship programme.

More miracles for Dream Centre Many of you were stirred by Chris Sola’s story at the Gathering. You also heard of his dream to purchase the Manukau City Sky Cinema complex that was vacated by Sky Theatres three years ago. In April, Chris and his church moved in. For that to happen there have been some very significant partnerships. One of the basic ones was one that many of you have benefitted from, a partnership with BSDS, who made the money available for the loan.

Missional Renaissance: Changing the Scorecard of the Church. By Reggie McNeal. Jossey-Bass, 2009 "Missional is a way of living, not an affiliation or activity. … To think and to live missionally means seeing all life as a way to be engaged with the mission of God in the world."   He says that three shifts are required for the church: from an internal to an external focus, from running programs to developing people, and from church-focused...

Are there Muslim people in your community? Does your church have much contact with them? Many of us would put this in the "too hard basket". In February-March next year, the leaders of a ministry working with Muslims (not Tranzsend) are coming to New Zealand and are available to input into this work. For thirty years they’ve led, or been members of, multi-cultural teams in Asia. Their current ministry is focused on creative access...
